A Message from the President
Greetings Fellow Lions:
The year has come to an end. It has been a roller coaster ride for me. We had a good and profitable fish fry in the spring. I took office in July; I made a lot mistakes just getting started. The County fair was in July. The fair was a success, thanks to Rob Hochschild, Paul Russell, and everyone who worked at the fair. Nappanee had their tornados in the fall. Don Milzarek and Paul Russell did a fantastic job in organizing the crew to go and help in the clean-up. We were able to donate $2500.00 to the Salvation Army for tornado relief. Christmas came with Santa coming to the Lakeville library. He was well-received, and the Lions took nearly 50 pictures of the children. Our Christmas party went well. Our Christmas Food Basket and Toys for Tots projects helped make the holidays brighter for more than 50 families with more than 150 children.
Our speaker for January will be District Governor David Eisen, from Mishawaka. Coming up in the early spring we will start planning for our Bicycle Run with Lion Jim Foster in charge. I hope that all of you Lions have a happy and prosperous New Year.
Thank You,
Lion President Ben Leslie
