The Scoop for the Group

Greetings Fellow Lions

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

At the recent cabinet meeting it was published in the Indiana Statewide Lions Membership report that out of 58 clubs in district G, our Lakeville Lions were second in positive membership gain, and one of the leading clubs in the entire state. Congratulations to those who have brought in new members. To the rest of you; how about getting on the ball and bring in a new member? All you have to do is explain why you joined, point out the benefits of helping someone in need, and bring them to a meeting. WE HAVE ROOM FOR MANY MORE!

Lion Adam Morehouse and his committee have put up our lighted Christmas display in Newton Park. Thank you to all who helped in this project, it looks very nice. It is best viewed from Mangus Drive

The food collected from the LaVille Elementary School is at the Union-North EMS building and will be distributed, along with toys, on Sat. Dec. 17th from 8am to 12 noon to the families whose names were supplied to us by the LaVille Schools and the Union Twp. Trustee. On Friday the 16th, from 1pm until ????, we will be boxing up the food baskets in preparation for the distribution the next day. All those Lions who can spare some time are needed to help in this project. ALSO, our Toys for Tots drive is going on from Nov. 10th to Dec. 18th. with Dec. 10th being the “BLITZ” day at Lion Dave Grenert's garage from 7:30am until noon. Collection sites are also at Gift Basket Express and Newton Center. Check your Nov. news letter for further details. Hope to see you at either of these events. Remember: WE SERVE.

Our Christmas Party will be Dec. the 13th , with snacks and goodies at 6:30 , dinner at 7:00 or shortly thereafter. I feel we have some excellent musical entertainment lined up for the evening so don't miss it. Remember to call Lion Judy Hochschild (287-4124) with your reservation if you are not in the permanent list. There will be no Board meeting in December.

Santa Claus arrived at the Newton Center on Dec 3rd and your Lions Club furnished pictures of the children with Santa again this year. Altogether we took about 110 photos. We also set up in the hall and sold our coloring books. All coloring books and Martins' coupon books are now sold. Thanks to all who helped in these projects.

In closing, Betty and I wish you a joyous holiday season and may the new year be full of blessings and happiness to all. May we also be a blessing to someone else by reaching out to them in their time of need by Our Service.

Lion President Howard
